The World in Our Heads

"The world in our heads is not a precise replica of reality"

This is a quote from the book "Thinking Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman.

I totally agree with this statement.

My world view is made by my experience in the past and environment in which I grew up.

But the experience and environment that I have had are just a little piece of what is existing in this world.

In other words, my world view is formed by just a little piece of image of this world.

So why isn't it biased or warped?

It surely is.

This is not a bad thing because nobody can grasp the "100 percent correct image" of this world.

All of us need to accept this fact. Everything starts from accepting this fact.

So what?

What I want to say is that it is really normal to encounter something that I don't know or that I cannot accept because what I know and what I can accept are a tiny piece of this world, as I explained above.

Getting angry about someone or refusing someone is based on the assumption that you are more correct or you know more than the person who we get angry about or who we refuse.

But nobody knows which one is correct because nobody can know the truth of this world.

It does NOT mean that we should not express our opinion or emotion.
Because we want to do so, we do so.

We want to express ourselves through some means. So why don't we do that?

It's a good thing to express our opinion and discuss with others who have different opinion. From there, something new and valuable may rise up.

But as a presumption of all discussion and debate, I would like to remember this.
