Vested Interest (English)

Personally, I don't like people who are trying to protect their vested interest and earning lots of benefits that do not correspond with their ability.

This is one of the reasons why I quit my company in Japan.

I didn't like elderlies who used to preach me as if what their saying had been the absolute truth in the world.

Truth changes according to where we are.

At least for me, it seemed like those elderlies were overconfident about their ability not knowing that their huge amount of salary is coming from their vested interest, not from their sheer ability.

HOWEVER

Thinking about MY vested interest, I come across contradiction.

That is to say that the fact that I was born in Japan is the huge vested interest given the world situation.

As long as you were born in Japan, most probably, you won't die of hunger. (There are a few exceptions and we need to think about those cases one by one. Here, I want to talk about the overall situation.)

Most probably, you can get enough nutrition to maintain your health. Rather, you had better take care of overnutrition.

Moreover, I was born in a middle class family and have received higher level education, though not the best.

I have family and home where I can go back.

And most probably, the readers of this blog are vested interest holders to some extent in this sense.

Let me repeat.

The fact that I was born in Japan itself is a huge vested interest.

So, do I want to through this away or do I need to?

Maybe not.

Maybe, what's better to do is to take advantage of this vested interest and try to serve those without vested interest and suffering from it.

This gives me one possible answer to the article I wrote the other day.

Do I need to be poor to serve the poor?
