Sense of Humor (English)

I am a strong believer of the importance of "Sense of Humor."

Why?

Because the seriousness sometimes takes us to the extreme and conflict.

For example, in the era of cold war, the world was divided into two parts.

One side strongly believed that the freedom makes the world better and the other side was convinced that the equality does.

Both sides are so "serious" about this problem.

Both sides had a strong theoretical support (maybe one side from Karl Marx and the other side from Adam Smith or Milton Friedman).

Both of them were so "serious" and started fighting around the world killing millions of people.

When I think about this problem, I always doubt the importance of "Seriousness". Are they really doing the right thing?

For me, people who are always drinking beer, dancing and hitting on pretty girls (or cool guys) are contributing much more to the peace of the world, in a sense.

Is being serious so important?

If our life exists to enjoy it, do we really need to be so serious about it?

Sense of humor always gives us the opportunity to step back from the problem and observe it with calm viewpoint.

Once Charles Chaplin said

"Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up but a comedy in long shot"

I like thinking about politics, economics, sociology and other "seemingly" serious themes. But I am just thinking about these because it is interesting. I do not believe that those are more important than enjoying our daily life with full of humor.

Sometimes, lets stop being too serious and enjoy our life.

Being right is not always the most important thing.
