Inertia

When we start working after the graduation from universities, the elderlies say

"you should work at least 3 years for one company. Even if you cannot enjoy working for the company in the first or second year, you will be able to enjoy it in 3 years."

Or, people who have work experience for more than 3 years often say,

"I was indulged when I was a student. I did not know what the society is. Now I know how it works and I should teach it to the young."

I think, these sayings are half correct and half incorrect.

We, humans, get used to our environment to some extent regardless of liking it or not.

In general, it is a good thing because without that ability, we cannot survive.

As Darwin said, "who survived was not those were strong but those got used to the environment."

However, by getting used to the environment, we sometimes forget something important, I think.

When I was a student, I had a different idea from now.

Now I learned "the common sense" and "the NORMAL way of behaving as a business person" and I can behave as NORMAL person.

But is that a GOOD thing? What I learned and got used to is BETTER than I used to have when I was a student?

I think there are two reasons why lots of business person start to think that their job is interesting and significative.

One is, as always said, that their job is really getting interesting because they learn a lot in former two years and they are more empowered to manage their own work.

But the other is that their mentality is getting used to the way in which others feel satisfaction.
In other words, they get brainwashed gradually.

Im not saying this is a bad thing because after all, we are affected by our environment.
No matter where we are, we are affected by the environment. We cannot escape from this fact.

The word "inertia" has various meanings. It refers to the momentum of one object that wants to keep doing the same behavior.

Other meaning is just "lazy."

Getting used to the environment is not a bad thing in itself, I think.

What is dangerous about getting used to the environment is stop thinking because we are content of our environment.
It is easy to deny the past.

But is that really logical? Isn't there a possibility that what I am thinking right now is incorrect?

If we stop thinking about it, it could be "inertia" , in a latter meaning.
